Key Responsibilities

  • Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients for various dishes.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the entire kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing workstations, utensils, floors, and kitchen equipment regularly.
  • Support in receiving and properly storing kitchen supplies, ensuring accurate inventory management and adherence to FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles.
  • Assist with waste disposal and recycling efforts, strictly adhering to established restaurant and environmental procedures.
  • Operate basic kitchen equipment safely and efficiently under supervision, such as blenders, mixers, and dishwashers.
  • Adhere strictly to all food safety and health regulations, including proper handling and storage of food items, to prevent contamination.
  • Assist with plating and presentation of dishes as required by the head chef or culinary team, ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, maintenance needs, or potential hazards to the kitchen supervisor promptly to ensure operational safety.
  • Collaborate effectively with all kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service, timely dish preparation, and an excellent customer experience.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of kitchen operations and essential hygiene standards.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately and efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail, a proactive attitude, and excellent organizational skills.
