Key Responsibilities
- Assist chefs and cooks with food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, chopping, and cutting ingredients.
- Clean and sanitise kitchen utensils, dishes, pots, pans, and cooking equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen areas, including floors, counters, and storage spaces.
- Support in receiving and storing kitchen supplies, ensuring proper stock rotation and inventory management.
- Dispose of waste and recycling properly, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Assist with the basic cooking of simple dishes as directed by the head chef or senior cooks.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as blenders, mixers, and slicers safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards and regulations.
- Assist in transporting food and supplies within the kitchen and to serving areas.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
