Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior chefs with the meticulous preparation of ingredients, including precise chopping, slicing, portioning, and cleaning.
- Learn and master various cooking techniques under close supervision, such as grilling, sautéing, frying, roasting, and baking.
- Maintain an impeccably clean and organized workstation throughout shifts, adhering strictly to the highest standards of hygiene and food safety protocols.
- Ensure all food items are stored properly, labeled correctly, and maintained at precise temperatures to prevent spoilage and ensure freshness.
- Accurately follow recipes, portion control guidelines, and production schedules to guarantee consistency and exceptional quality in all prepared dishes.
- Assist in the efficient setting up and stocking of workstations with all necessary ingredients, tools, and equipment before and during service.
- Support the entire culinary team during peak service hours, contributing to timely and efficient food production and plating.
- Proactively take direction and constructive feedback from Executive Chefs, Sous Chefs, and other senior kitchen staff.
- Monitor food levels in the kitchen and communicate needs promptly to maintain adequate stock for uninterrupted service.
- Participate in inventory management tasks, including receiving, rotating, and organizing stock as required.
- Uphold the highest standards of presentation, taste, and consistency for all dishes prepared and served.
- Contribute actively to a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team environment.
- Adhere to all resort policies, procedures, and health & safety regulations.

- Familiarity with diverse culinary traditions, ingredients, and cooking methods.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of Swahili or other international languages is a strong asset.
