Key Responsibilities

  • Execute daily food preparation tasks including washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, and dicing a variety of vegetables, fruits, and meats according to recipe specifications and safety guidelines.
  • Portion and package ingredients accurately for daily use, minimizing waste and ensuring efficient inventory management.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation, including all prep areas, utensils, and equipment, adhering strictly to food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Assist the culinary team with basic cooking tasks as needed, such as grilling vegetables or frying components.
  • Monitor ingredient freshness and quality, reporting any discrepancies or issues to the kitchen manager immediately.
  • Receive and properly store deliveries, ensuring all items are rotated according to FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles.
  • Support kitchen staff during peak hours to ensure smooth and timely service.
  • Perform general kitchen duties, including dishwashing and clean-up, as required to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety protocols.

Required Skills

  • Prior experience in a kitchen or food preparation role is preferred, but not mandatory; we are willing to train enthusiastic individuals.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and hygiene.
  • Basic knife skills and familiarity with standard kitchen equipment.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Food Handler’s Certificate (or willingness to obtain one upon hire).
  • Understanding of basic culinary techniques and kitchen operations.
  • Previous experience with inventory management or stock rotation.
  • A genuine passion for food and a positive, can-do attitude.
