Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced cooks and chefs with basic food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
- Learn and apply proper knife handling techniques and food safety protocols under direct supervision.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen stations, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste appropriately.
- Monitor inventory of basic ingredients and inform senior staff of shortages.
- Support the culinary team during peak service hours by ensuring a steady supply of prepped ingredients.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations (HACCP principles) to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food quality.
- Receive and store deliveries, verifying the quality and quantity of items.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative kitchen environment.
- Follow recipes and portion control guidelines accurately after receiving training.
