Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth service flow.
- Lead, train, and motivate a team of front-of-house and back-of-house staff to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Ensure all food and beverage preparation and service meet established quality and presentation standards.
- Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally and efficiently, ensuring high levels of guest satisfaction.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and minimize waste to optimize operational costs.
- Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including food safety standards.
- Manage cash handling procedures, including till reconciliation and daily reporting.
- Assist in scheduling staff shifts, assigning duties, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Support the Restaurant Manager in implementing operational policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting dining environment for guests and staff.
Required Skills
- Proven experience of at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role within the hospitality industry.
- Strong understanding of restaurant operations, including front-of-house and basic back-of-house functions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of leading and inspiring a diverse team.
- Exceptional customer service abilities with a genuine guest-first mindset.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, multitask, and resolve conflicts calmly and professionally.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as per operational needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal qualification in hospitality management or a related field (e.g., Hotelfachmann/-frau).
- In-depth knowledge of German labor laws and food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP).
- Demonstrated experience with inventory management, stock rotation, and cost control in a restaurant setting.
- First aid certification is a plus.
- Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken, additional languages are an asset.
