As a Restaurant Storekeeper, you will be the backbone of the kitchen’s supply chain, responsible for the comprehensive management of all food and beverage items, as well as operational supplies. This includes meticulously receiving deliveries, accurate storage, precise issuance, and regular inventory taking. Your meticulous attention to detail will ensure that all products are handled correctly, following FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles, minimizing waste, and maximizing operational efficiency. You will play a crucial role in maintaining strong, professional relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries, and diligently verifying the quality and quantity of all incoming goods against purchase orders. Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify all incoming food, beverage, and operational supplies against purchase orders and quality standards.
  • Implement and maintain an organized storage system, ensuring proper rotation (FIFO), labeling, and temperature control for all items.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile with system records, investigating and reporting discrepancies.
  • Issue supplies to various kitchen and service departments based on authorized requisitions.
  • Monitor stock levels, forecast future needs, and assist in preparing purchase requisitions to prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of all storage areas, including dry stores, refrigerators, and freezers, adhering to strict hygiene and safety standards.
  • Manage waste control and spoilage, implementing measures to reduce loss.
  • Operate inventory management software to accurately track stock movements and generate reports.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for timely deliveries and manage returns of unsatisfactory products.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Storekeeper, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and basic computer skills (MS Office).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 25kg) and stand for extended periods.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP or similar).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or certificate in Hospitality Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with various types of perishable and non-perishable food, beverages, and kitchen supplies.
  • Experience with a specific POS/Inventory system commonly used in high-end restaurants.
  • Strong negotiation skills with suppliers and vendors.
