Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Restaurant Supervisor to take on a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of our busy Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) outlet in Norton, Mashonaland West Province. The Restaurant Supervisor will be instrumental in ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service, maintaining stringent standards of food quality and safety, and leading a dedicated team to achieve peak operational efficiency and excellence. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth workflow and strict adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Train, mentor, and motivate a diverse team of restaurant staff, including cashiers, cooks, and service personnel.
- Ensure consistently high standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety are met and maintained at all times.
- Manage comprehensive inventory processes, including accurate ordering, receiving, storing, and stocking of supplies to minimize waste and ensure product availability.
- Handle all customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints promptly, professionally, and courteously to ensure ultimate customer satisfaction.
- Monitor individual and team staff performance, provide constructive feedback, and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Assist in developing and implementing efficient staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during both peak and off-peak hours.
- Oversee all cash handling procedures, including daily reconciliations, banking, and adherence to financial protocols.
- Implement and rigorously enforce all health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe and compliant environment for both staff and customers.
- Contribute actively to achieving sales targets and maintaining optimal cost-efficiency through effective operational management.
- Conduct regular and thorough inspections of the restaurant premises to ensure impeccable cleanliness, organization, and operational readiness.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a supervisory or team lead role within the QSR or broader hospitality industry (minimum 2 years).
- Demonstrated strong leadership and effective team management abilities.
- Exceptional customer service orientation and superior communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and often high-pressure environment.
- Proficiency in inventory management, stock control, and accurate cash handling procedures.
- Thorough knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations and best practices.
- Strong problem-solving and critical decision-making capabilities.
- Basic computer literacy, including familiarity with MS Office Suite and Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a closely related field.
- Previous experience working with a major quick-service restaurant (QSR) brand.
- Valid First Aid certification.
- Fluency in local languages (e.g., Shona, Ndebele) in addition to English.
