Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Restaurant Supervisor to join a vibrant and popular dining establishment located on Byres Road, Glasgow. As a key member of the front-of-house leadership team, you will play a crucial role in overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional service delivery, and fostering a positive and productive work environment for our staff. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service flow and adherence to operational procedures.
  • Lead, motivate, and train front-of-house staff, including servers, hosts, and bartenders, to deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction, respond to feedback, and resolve complaints promptly and professionally to ensure a positive dining experience.
  • Oversee reservation management, table assignments, and seating arrangements to maximize capacity and efficiency.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and organization throughout the dining area, bar, and service stations.
  • Manage cash handling procedures, including till reconciliations and end-of-day reports.
  • Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and ordering supplies as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and licensing regulations.
  • Conduct pre-shift briefings and post-shift debriefings to communicate objectives and gather feedback.
  • Support the Restaurant Manager in administrative tasks and strategic planning.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role within a busy restaurant or hospitality setting.
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a proactive approach to guest satisfaction.
  • Proficiency in POS systems and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sound knowledge of food and beverage operations, including service standards.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to make quick, informed decisions.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SVQ Level 3 in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership or equivalent.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Food Hygiene certificate (Level 2 or higher).
  • Experience with specific restaurant management software.
  • Knowledge of local licensing laws and regulations.
