Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing product information and recommendations.
- Operate cash registers accurately, handle cash and electronic payments, and process transactions efficiently.
- Stock shelves, rotate products, and ensure merchandise is displayed attractively and according to planograms.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, backroom, and checkout areas.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving, unpacking, and labeling stock.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve minor complaints, escalating complex issues to management when necessary.
- Monitor product freshness and expiry dates, removing expired items to ensure quality standards.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health, safety, and security guidelines.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily sales targets and operational goals.
- Assist with special promotions, sales events, and seasonal merchandising efforts.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a customer service or retail environment (6 months minimum).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic mathematical skills for handling transactions and counting inventory.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights (up to 20kg).
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Familiarity with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Fluency in Sesotho and English.
- A passion for providing exceptional customer service and a positive attitude.
