Key Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using POS (Point of Sale) systems.
- Provide exceptional customer service, warmly greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving issues politely and professionally.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring accuracy, security, and proper reconciliation at the end of shifts.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting checkout area, ensuring supplies are stocked and equipment is functional.
- Assist with bagging purchases and offering help to carry items for customers when needed, enhancing the overall shopping experience.
- Actively promote store loyalty programs, special offers, and upcoming promotions to customers.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other store departments to ensure smooth store operations and a cohesive work environment.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies and procedures, including those related to loss prevention, safety, and security.
- Perform basic merchandising tasks, such as restocking shelves near the checkout area and ensuring product displays are tidy and appealing.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures as required, including cash drawer preparation and store tidying.
Required Skills
- Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service and strong interpersonal communication skills.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in handling financial transactions.
- Ability to work effectively and maintain composure in a dynamic, fast-paced retail environment.
- Solid basic math skills for efficient cash handling and calculating change.
