Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with a friendly demeanor, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
- Accurately scan items and process various types of transactions (cash, credit/debit cards, mobile payments) using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and tidy checkout area at all times, including stocking bags and supplies.
- Handle cash carefully, provide correct change, and reconcile cash drawers accurately at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Answer customer inquiries, direct them to products, or escalate complex issues to a supervisor or management when necessary.
- Assist with bagging purchases efficiently and carefully, ensuring items are handled appropriately.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current sales, promotions, and store policies to inform customers accurately.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment, fostering respect and cooperation among colleagues.
- Adhere strictly to all store security, safety, and operational procedures to ensure a safe environment for everyone.
Required Skills
- Basic mathematical skills for processing transactions and making accurate change.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and a friendly, approachable attitude.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling transactions and counting money.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting (up to 10 kg) if required.
