Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet customers, assist them with product inquiries, help them locate items, and provide helpful information to enhance their shopping experience.
  • Accurately and efficiently operate point-of-sale (POS) systems, handling cash, card, and other payment methods in compliance with company policies.
  • Replenish shelves regularly, ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO), and maintain attractive, clean, and well-organized product displays according to merchandising standards.
  • Assist with receiving and processing new stock deliveries, ensuring items are correctly unpacked, scanned, stored, and priced on the sales floor.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shopping environment for both customers and staff by performing regular tidying and cleaning tasks.
  • Monitor inventory levels on shelves and in storage, reporting discrepancies or low stock situations to supervisors promptly to prevent stock-outs.
  • Adhere strictly to all company policies and procedures, including those related to health, safety, food hygiene, and security protocols.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and management to achieve daily operational goals and enhance overall store performance and efficiency.
  • Proactively identify and address customer complaints or concerns, providing immediate solutions or escalating issues to management when necessary.
  • Actively participate in promotional activities, special sales events, and marketing campaigns to boost sales and enhance customer engagement.

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service with a positive attitude.
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with diverse customers and colleagues.
  • Basic numeracy skills for accurate cash handling, transaction processing, and stock counting.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a cohesive team.
  • Reliable, punctual, and highly dependable with a strong, proactive work ethic.
  • Physical capability to stand for extended periods, bend, reach, and lift moderate weights (up to 15 kg) as required for stock management.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, which may include evenings, weekends, and public holidays, based on store operational needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (at least 6 months) in a retail, customer service, or hospitality role.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and electronic cash handling procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of merchandising principles and inventory management practices.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new tasks and learn new systems efficiently.
