Job Description
As a Risk Analyst at CBZ Bank, you will be a pivotal member of our dynamic Risk Management team, dedicated to upholding the financial integrity and stability of one of Zimbabwe’s leading financial institutions. Your primary mission will be to proactively identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate a broad spectrum of risks—including credit, operational, market, and liquidity risks—that could potentially impact the bank’s strategic objectives and day-to-day operations.
This role is not merely about identifying problems; it’s about pioneering solutions. You will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and continuously refining robust risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures that align with both internal standards and evolving regulatory requirements. A significant part of your contribution will involve conducting in-depth quantitative and qualitative analyses of complex financial data, market trends, and economic indicators. You will transform this data into actionable insights, providing senior management with clear, concise, and timely reports that inform critical decision-making processes.
Your responsibilities will extend to preparing comprehensive risk assessments, conducting stress testing, and scenario analysis to evaluate the bank’s resilience under various adverse conditions. Ensuring strict compliance with local banking laws, international standards such (e.g., Basel Accords), and internal risk limits will be paramount. You will also play a key role in the development and validation of risk models, utilizing advanced statistical techniques and software tools.
Collaboration is at the heart of our approach to risk management. You will work cross-functionally with various departments, including Credit, Operations, Finance, IT, and Compliance, to foster a bank-wide culture of risk awareness and ensure an integrated, holistic approach to risk mitigation. Furthermore, you will contribute to capacity building by providing training and guidance on risk management best practices to colleagues. The successful candidate will be a forward-thinker, adept at problem-solving, with a meticulous eye for detail and an unwavering commitment to accuracy, directly contributing to CBZ Bank’s sustainable growth and reputation as a trusted financial partner.
