Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Risk Analyst to join our esteemed team in Malindi, Kilifi County. In this critical full-time role, you will be instrumental in safeguarding the bank’s assets and reputation by proactively identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring various risks inherent in our financial operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Perform regular risk assessments and scenario analysis to quantify potential impacts and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare comprehensive risk reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management and relevant committees, highlighting key risk exposures and trends.
  • Monitor adherence to internal risk limits, regulatory guidelines (e.g., Central Bank of Kenya), and external compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with business units to embed risk awareness and ensure effective risk control measures are integrated into daily operations.
  • Conduct stress testing and back-testing of risk models to assess their accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of risk management training programs for bank staff.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to continuously enhance the bank's risk posture.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in risk management within the banking or financial services sector.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles, methodologies, and regulatory requirements (e.g., Basel II/III).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly.
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and sound judgment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification such as Financial Risk Manager (FRM), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or equivalent.
