Career.zycto is seeking a motivated Road Worker to join our expanding team, contributing to critical projects in Biebrich, Wiesbaden. As a Road Worker, you will be integral to various construction, repair, and maintenance tasks on roads, sidewalks, and public spaces. This involves everything from preparing construction sites and operating essential tools to laying asphalt or paving stones and ensuring strict adherence to safety standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Execute general road construction and maintenance tasks, including excavation, backfilling, and compaction.
  • Prepare sub-bases and surfaces for various road materials such as asphalt, concrete, and paving stones.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools, as well as light construction equipment (e.g., plate compactors, jackhammers, saws).
  • Assist in the installation of drainage systems, curbs, gutters, and other road-related structures.
  • Perform routine site clean-up and ensure proper organization of tools and materials.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Participate in traffic control measures, including setting up cones, barriers, and directing traffic as required.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.

Required Skills

  • Proven physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous manual labor in various weather conditions.
  • Basic understanding of construction principles and road building techniques.
  • Proficiency in operating common hand and power tools safely.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and following established protocols.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Valid German driver's license (Class B or equivalent).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant vocational training or certification in road construction (e.g., 'Straßenbauer' qualification).
  • Experience operating heavier construction machinery such as excavators, loaders, or rollers.
  • First aid certification.
  • Basic German language proficiency to understand instructions and safety briefings.
