Key Responsibilities
- Execute general road construction and maintenance tasks, including excavation, backfilling, and compaction.
- Prepare sub-bases and surfaces for various road materials such as asphalt, concrete, and paving stones.
- Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools, as well as light construction equipment (e.g., plate compactors, jackhammers, saws).
- Assist in the installation of drainage systems, curbs, gutters, and other road-related structures.
- Perform routine site clean-up and ensure proper organization of tools and materials.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Participate in traffic control measures, including setting up cones, barriers, and directing traffic as required.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
Required Skills
- Proven physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous manual labor in various weather conditions.
- Basic understanding of construction principles and road building techniques.
- Proficiency in operating common hand and power tools safely.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and following established protocols.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Valid German driver's license (Class B or equivalent).
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant vocational training or certification in road construction (e.g., 'Straßenbauer' qualification).
- Experience operating heavier construction machinery such as excavators, loaders, or rollers.
- First aid certification.
- Basic German language proficiency to understand instructions and safety briefings.
