Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the safe loading, unloading, and accurate distribution of roofing materials and equipment on job sites.
  • Prepare work areas meticulously by setting up scaffolding, ladders, and appropriate safety barriers.
  • Help in the careful removal of old, damaged, or worn-out roofing materials.
  • Provide active support to experienced roofers during the installation of new roofing systems, including shingles, tiles, metal sheets, and membranes.
  • Perform precise measurements and cuts of materials under direct supervision.
  • Maintain a consistently clean, organized, and hazard-free worksite throughout the project duration.
  • Strictly adhere to all company safety protocols, construction regulations, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Operate basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently under guidance.
  • Perform general labor tasks as required to ensure project timelines are met and quality standards are upheld.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrable physical stamina and strength for lifting, carrying, and working in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to work comfortably and safely at heights on roofs and scaffolding.
  • Basic understanding and familiarity with common construction tools and equipment.
  • High level of reliability, punctuality, and strong work ethic.
  • Excellent teamwork and clear communication skills.
  • Genuine willingness and eagerness to learn new skills and follow instructions diligently.
  • Basic proficiency in spoken Swahili for effective communication with the team and local stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience (even minimal) in construction, general labor, or roofing.
  • Possession of a valid Tanzanian driver's license.
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR.
  • Completion of vocational training or a trade school program in construction or a related field.
