Job Description

Gold Nest Hotel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Room Attendant to join our dynamic housekeeping team in Vacoas, Vacoas-Phoenix. As a Room Attendant, you will be the cornerstone of our guest experience, directly responsible for ensuring that all guest rooms and public areas meet our impeccable standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation. Your work will significantly contribute to the comfort and satisfaction of our guests, making their stay with us truly exceptional. This role involves performing a wide range of cleaning duties, preparing rooms for arriving guests, and maintaining the highest levels of sanitation and orderliness. You will be expected to work efficiently, manage your time effectively, and operate various cleaning equipment safely. Key Responsibilities
- Clean and service assigned guest rooms and public areas according to hotel standards and procedures, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, and polishing furniture.
- Replenish guest room supplies, amenities, and linen in accordance with established guidelines.
- Inspect rooms for any damage or maintenance needs and report issues promptly to the supervisor.
- Handle guest requests courteously and efficiently, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked supply cart.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and regulations, including the proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Report lost and found items to the supervisor immediately.
- Assist with laundry duties and linen management as required.
- Collaborate effectively with other members of the housekeeping and hotel team to ensure smooth operations.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to clean and maintain high standards of hygiene and presentation.
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift, bend, push, and pull.
- Time management skills to complete tasks efficiently within given deadlines.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic communication skills to interact with guests and colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months experience in a hotel housekeeping or similar role.
- Familiarity with various cleaning techniques and equipment.
- Knowledge of safety procedures for handling cleaning chemicals.
- Ability to speak English and/or French; Creole is a plus.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
