Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and meticulous Room Attendant to join our dedicated Housekeeping team at Acacia Premier Hotel. This vital role is at the heart of our commitment to guest satisfaction, ensuring that every room and common area meets our exacting standards of cleanliness and presentation. As a Room Attendant, you will be responsible for upholding the pristine condition of our guest rooms, creating a welcoming and comfortable sanctuary for our visitors. Your work directly impacts our guests’ experience, contributing significantly to their overall satisfaction and our hotel’s reputation for excellence. This is an on-site position requiring a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintaining a spotless environment. You will work closely with other members of the housekeeping team, supervisors, and front office staff to ensure seamless operations. Key Responsibilities
- Clean and service assigned guest rooms and public areas according to hotel standards and procedures, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, and replenishing amenities.
- Handle guest requests promptly and efficiently, ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction.
- Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damaged items within rooms or public areas to the supervisor immediately.
- Maintain a neat and organized housekeeping cart and storerooms.
- Manage laundry duties for linens and towels, ensuring proper handling and storage.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and regulations.
- Monitor and control supplies and amenities, minimizing waste and ensuring availability.
- Assist with special cleaning projects as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor.
- Interact with guests in a courteous and professional manner, always upholding the hotel's service standards.
- Properly handle and dispose of waste and recycling materials.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Room Attendant or Housekeeper, preferably in a hotel setting.
- Strong attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift, bend, push, and pull.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Basic communication skills in English and/or Kiswahili.
- Reliability and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate or diploma in Hospitality Management or a related field.
- Knowledge of various cleaning techniques and equipment.
- Experience with hotel property management systems (PMS) for room status updates.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a hospitality environment.
