As a Route Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods along established routes within the Phoenix metropolitan area. Your daily tasks will include performing thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, loading and unloading packages with care, and meticulously maintaining delivery documentation. Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently on assigned routes.
- Load and unload merchandise, ensuring accurate counts and secure handling.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and DOT regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, documenting any issues.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and manifest documentation.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, addressing inquiries professionally.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and team members.
- Handle cash or payment transactions as required, ensuring accuracy.
- Safely navigate diverse weather conditions and traffic patterns.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report any maintenance issues promptly.
Required Skills
- Valid Class C Driver's License (non-CDL is acceptable for this role).
- Clean driving record (MVR) for at least the past three years.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in using GPS and route navigation tools.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a route driver or in a delivery role (1+ years preferred).
- Knowledge of the Phoenix metropolitan area, particularly the Desert Ridge region.
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs).
- Customer service experience in a delivery or field-based role.
