Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Safety Engineer to join our client’s team, operating from their prestigious Mayfair, London office. This critical role is designed for a meticulous professional with a strong command of English and a proven track record in developing, implementing, and maintaining robust safety protocols across complex engineering projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed risk assessments, hazard identification, and incident investigations.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all relevant UK and international safety regulations, standards, and legislation (e.g., HASAWA, CDM Regulations).
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on safety matters to project teams, management, and contractors.
  • Prepare and deliver safety training programs and awareness campaigns for all levels of staff.
  • Lead and participate in safety audits and inspections, identifying areas for improvement and corrective actions.
  • Analyze safety data, prepare reports, and present findings to stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate safety-by-design principles into new projects and modifications.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Safety Engineer in a relevant industry.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent recognized safety qualification.
  • Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Strong understanding of UK health and safety legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related engineering or safety discipline.
  • Chartered membership with a relevant professional body (e.g., IOSH, IIRSM).
  • Experience with ISO 45001 implementation and auditing.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies.
