Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) programs and policies across all operational facets.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure strict compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal and state regulations.
- Investigate all accidents, incidents, and near-misses thoroughly, determining root causes and recommending effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Lead and facilitate engaging safety training sessions for employees on critical topics such as hazard communication, lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and emergency preparedness.
- Manage and meticulously update safety data sheets (SDS) and maintain accurate, detailed safety records and documentation.
- Collaborate proactively with management, supervisors, and employees at all levels to foster a robust safety culture and promote continuous improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate and select appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for various tasks and ensure its proper use, maintenance, and availability.
- Prepare and submit all required safety reports to internal stakeholders, management, and regulatory agencies in a timely and accurate manner.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 4 years) as a Safety Engineer or EHS professional, preferably in an industrial, manufacturing, or engineering consulting setting.
- Strong, in-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, ANSI standards, and other federal/state safety requirements.
- Proficiency in conducting comprehensive risk assessments, hazard analyses (e.g., HAZOP, JSA), and thorough incident investigations.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively train, influence, and engage employees at all organizational levels.
- Ability to develop and implement effective safety training programs tailored to diverse audiences and operational needs.
- Proficiency with safety management software, EHS reporting systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail and process improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and contribute effectively as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification.
- Experience with ISO 45001 or other recognized international safety management systems.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification.
