Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify, prospect, and acquire new customers for Equity Bank's extensive range of financial products and services.
  • Consistently achieve and exceed assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Develop and maintain strong, mutually beneficial, and long-lasting customer relationships.
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments to accurately recommend the most suitable banking solutions and products to clients.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling product demonstrations, presentations, and tailored proposals to prospective clients.
  • Collaborate effectively with branch management, marketing teams, and other departments to implement strategic sales campaigns and initiatives.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and comprehensive reports on sales activities, pipeline status, and future forecasts.
  • Stay continuously updated on market trends, competitor activities, new product developments, and regulatory changes within the financial sector.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all banking regulations, internal policies, and operational procedures.
  • Represent Equity Bank professionally and ethically at all times, consistently upholding our brand values and reputation.

Required Skills

  • Proven track record in sales, with at least 2 years of experience, preferably within the financial services industry.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer-centric approach with the innate ability to build rapport and trust quickly.
  • Highly goal-oriented and self-motivated with a relentless drive to achieve and surpass targets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and general computer literacy.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a collaborative member of a team.
  • Demonstrated high level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or a closely related field.
  • Prior experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
  • In-depth knowledge of the local Bungoma market dynamics and existing customer base.
  • Fluency in local languages (e.g., Luhya) in addition to English and Swahili.
  • Certification in relevant sales or banking courses.
