Job Description

Are you a driven, results-oriented individual with a passion for sales and a talent for building lasting client relationships? Equity Bank is seeking a motivated Sales Representative with a flexible schedule to join our dynamic team in Nyandarua County. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in expanding our customer base and promoting our diverse range of financial products and services, including savings accounts, personal and business loans, digital banking solutions, and comprehensive insurance products. This position offers the autonomy to manage your own schedule, allowing you to effectively balance client meetings, prospecting activities, and administrative tasks. While based in Ol Kalou, you will be expected to cover the broader Nyandarua County, meeting clients at their premises, within our branch network, or through digital channels as needed. We are looking for someone who can thrive in a target-driven environment, demonstrating exceptional communication skills, a proactive approach, and a deep understanding of customer needs. Your primary goal will be to identify new business opportunities, engage potential clients through various channels, and guide them through our extensive product offerings, ensuring they choose solutions that best meet their financial goals and empower their economic growth. Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within Nyandarua County, focusing on individuals, SMEs, and corporate clients.
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing and potential customers through regular engagement.
  • Present and explain Equity Bank's comprehensive range of financial products and services, tailoring solutions to meet specific customer needs.
  • Achieve and consistently exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets for various banking products.
  • Conduct thorough financial needs assessments and risk evaluations to recommend appropriate and responsible financial solutions.
  • Prepare and submit regular, accurate sales reports, forecasts, and market feedback to management.
  • Collaborate effectively with branch staff, credit officers, and other departments to ensure seamless customer onboarding and service delivery.
  • Participate actively in community outreach programs, marketing events, and trade fairs to promote the bank's offerings and enhance brand visibility.
  • Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, economic developments, and new product innovations in the financial sector.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all banking policies, operational procedures, and regulatory requirements set forth by the Central Bank of Kenya.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of proven sales experience, with a strong preference for experience in the financial services or a related sector.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently meet and exceed challenging sales targets.
  • Strong understanding of customer service principles and relationship management.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, target-driven, and capable of working effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Possession of a valid driving license and willingness to travel extensively within Nyandarua County.
  • Ability to build rapport and trust quickly with a diverse client base from various backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a closely related field.
  • Previous experience selling financial products (e.g., loans, insurance, investment products, digital banking solutions).
  • In-depth knowledge of the local market dynamics, business environment, and community structures in Nyandarua County.
  • Fluency in Swahili and local dialects relevant to the region will be an added advantage.
