Job Description
Are you a highly skilled, safety-conscious, and experienced Scaffolder looking for an exciting opportunity to contribute your expertise to significant building projects in Rwanda? Horizon Construction Ltd. is actively seeking a dedicated and proficient Scaffolder to join our dynamic and growing team for a crucial new building project located in Huye, Southern Province. As a Scaffolder, you will be an instrumental part of our construction team, directly responsible for the safe and efficient erection, inspection, maintenance, and dismantling of various types of scaffolding systems, including tube and fitting, system scaffolding, and mobile towers. Your meticulous work will ensure a secure and stable elevated working platform for other trades, making attention to detail, unwavering adherence to stringent safety protocols, and strong teamwork absolutely paramount. This role is not merely about assembling structures; it’s about safeguarding our workforce, optimizing project timelines, and facilitating the seamless progression of all construction activities at height. You will collaborate closely with site managers, engineers, and other skilled trades to ensure that all scaffolding designs and installations meet project specifications and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Safely erect, inspect, modify, and dismantle various types of scaffolding systems (e.g., tube and fitting, system scaffolding, mobile towers) according to drawings, specifications, and safety regulations.
- Perform daily safety checks on all scaffolding equipment and structures.
- Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and scaffolding plans.
- Ensure all scaffolding components are in good condition and correctly assembled.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, industry standards, and relevant Rwandan building codes and regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with other construction trades and site management to coordinate scaffolding requirements and timelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper storage of tools and equipment.
- Report any structural defects, safety hazards, or equipment malfunctions immediately to the supervisor.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior scaffolders or less experienced team members where applicable.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience as a Scaffolder in building or civil construction projects.
- Demonstrated expertise in erecting and dismantling various scaffolding systems.
- Thorough knowledge of scaffolding safety standards and procedures.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and plans accurately.
- Strong physical fitness and ability to work at heights.
- Excellent understanding of site safety regulations and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in scaffolding (e.g., CISRS, or equivalent recognized qualification).
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience working on large-scale commercial or industrial construction projects.
- Proficiency in Kinyarwanda and English.
- Valid driver’s license.
