Job Description
Are you a skilled and safety-conscious Scaffolding Builder looking for a challenging opportunity to contribute to significant construction projects in Masvingo? As a Scaffolding Builder, you will be instrumental in the safe and efficient erection, alteration, and dismantling of various scaffolding structures used to support our diverse construction and concrete manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities
- Safely erect, inspect, modify, and dismantle various types of scaffolding structures (e.g., tube and coupler, system scaffolding) according to design specifications, blueprints, and safety regulations.
- Inspect scaffolding components for defects and ensure all equipment is in good working condition before and during use, reporting any deficiencies immediately.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and relevant occupational health and safety regulations at all times.
- Work collaboratively with project managers, site supervisors, and other tradespersons to ensure scaffolding is available as required and to facilitate smooth project progression.
- Measure and cut scaffolding materials to precise specifications, ensuring structural integrity and stability.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper storage and maintenance of scaffolding equipment.
- Conduct daily visual inspections of erected scaffolding and complete relevant safety checklists.
- Participate in safety briefings, training sessions, and toolbox talks to continually enhance safety awareness and practices.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Scaffolding Builder in a construction or industrial setting.
- Demonstrable knowledge of different scaffolding systems and their safe erection/dismantling procedures.
- Strong understanding of occupational health and safety regulations pertinent to scaffolding work.
- Ability to read and interpret scaffolding drawings and specifications.
- Excellent physical fitness and ability to work at heights, lift heavy materials, and perform strenuous tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal certification in scaffolding erection and dismantling (e.g., accredited training programs).
- Experience with various types of access equipment and fall protection systems.
- Basic first aid certification.
- Relevant trade qualification or vocational training in a related field.
