Save the Children Mozambique is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic School Admin Aide to join our team in Chongoene, Gaza Province. As a School Admin Aide, you will be the backbone of our local project office, providing essential administrative and logistical support to ensure the smooth and efficient running of our educational initiatives. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and logistical support to the Chongoene project team, with a particular focus on educational programs and activities.
  • Manage and maintain office supplies, equipment, and inventory, ensuring optimal stock levels and proper usage within the Chongoene office.
  • Assist in the organization and coordination of meetings, workshops, trainings, and community events, including venue arrangements, material preparation, and participant registration.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date physical and digital filing systems for all project documents, reports, beneficiary records, and administrative correspondence.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing communications, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and preparing official letters to partners and local authorities.
  • Support data entry tasks related to program activities, participant attendance, and other monitoring and evaluation requirements under supervision.
  • Assist with basic financial documentation, such as processing invoices, expense reports, and managing petty cash, ensuring compliance with organizational procedures.
  • Facilitate travel and accommodation arrangements for project staff and visitors as required, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Act as a welcoming point of contact for visitors and community members at the Chongoene office, directing inquiries appropriately.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in Portuguese.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving approach.
  • A genuine commitment to Save the Children's mission, values, and child protection policies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or certificate in Administration, Secretarial Studies, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in English or a local Mozambican language spoken in Gaza Province (e.g., Xitsonga, Gitonga).
  • Previous volunteer or entry-level work experience in an office setting or community development context.
  • Familiarity with the Chongoene district and its local community dynamics.
