As a School Bus Driver, you will be the first face many students see at the start of their school day and the last as they head home. Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport students on the designated morning route according to a strict schedule.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the school bus, reporting any defects or issues immediately.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus interior.
- Enforce student conduct rules on the bus to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
- Communicate effectively and courteously with students, parents, and school staff.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies.
- Manage refueling and basic fluid checks of the bus as required.
- Be prepared to assist students with special needs as necessary.
- Attend mandatory safety meetings and training sessions.
Required Skills
- Valid Kenyan Driving License (Class BCE or PSV endorsement)
- Clean driving record with no major violations for the past 5 years
- Proven experience in driving large vehicles or buses
- Excellent knowledge of traffic laws and road safety regulations in Kenya
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, calm demeanor, and ability to manage student behavior effectively
- Reliability and punctuality are paramount
- Ability to perform basic vehicle inspections and identify mechanical issues
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a school bus driver or transporting children
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification
- Familiarity with Karen and Nairobi road networks
- Defensive driving certification
- Ability to speak multiple local languages (e.g., Swahili)
