Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily litter control and waste removal across all school grounds.
- Execute regular lawn care duties, including mowing, trimming, edging, and fertilizing.
- Maintain garden beds, shrubbery, and trees through weeding, pruning, and planting.
- Assist with irrigation system checks, minor repairs, and adjustments to ensure proper watering.
- Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers).
- Conduct seasonal tasks such as snow removal, de-icing pathways, and salting in winter months.
- Monitor grounds for potential hazards or maintenance issues and report them promptly.
- Perform minor outdoor repairs to fences, benches, play structures, and pathways.
- Ensure all outdoor areas comply with safety standards and accessibility requirements.
- Support special event setups and take-downs, including moving outdoor furniture or equipment.
- Maintain tool sheds and storage areas in a clean, organized, and secure manner.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or a related outdoor maintenance field.
- Proficiency in operating various grounds maintenance equipment (e.g., lawnmowers, trimmers, leaf blowers).
- Strong knowledge of plant care, lawn maintenance, and basic horticulture practices.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
- Excellent observational skills to identify and address maintenance needs and safety concerns.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.
