Job Description
Beitbridge High School is seeking an exceptional and visionary School Principal to lead our esteemed institution. This pivotal role demands a dynamic educational leader who is deeply committed to academic excellence, student well-being, and strong community engagement. As the Principal, you will be the driving force behind our school’s strategic vision, responsible for overseeing all aspects of school operations, including robust curriculum development, effective staff management, prudent financial stewardship, and fostering a positive and inclusive school culture.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide visionary leadership for the school, setting clear academic and operational goals aligned with the school's mission and values.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and rigorous evaluation of a comprehensive and engaging curriculum that meets national standards.
- Recruit, mentor, evaluate, and retain highly qualified teaching and administrative staff, fostering a collaborative and professional development-oriented environment.
- Manage the school's financial resources responsibly, including meticulous budget development, strategic allocation, and continuous oversight.
- Ensure a safe, disciplined, and nurturing learning environment for all students and staff, promoting a culture of respect and responsibility.
- Foster strong and productive relationships with students, parents, staff, and the broader community through effective communication and engagement initiatives.
- Lead strategic planning initiatives for school improvement, long-term sustainability, and innovative program development.
- Ensure strict compliance with all local, provincial, and national educational policies, regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Promote and support a wide range of extracurricular activities and programs that enhance holistic student development and engagement.
- Act as the primary representative of the school to external bodies, educational authorities, and community stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in an educational leadership role, with at least 3 years as a Head of Department or equivalent senior position.
- Proven track record of improving student academic outcomes and overall school performance.
- Strong leadership, management, and organizational skills with the ability to inspire and delegate effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including public speaking and conflict resolution.
- Proficiency in financial management, budget oversight, and resource allocation.
- Deep understanding of curriculum development, pedagogical best practices, and educational technology integration.
- Ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance school culture.
- Thorough knowledge of educational policies and regulations pertinent to Zimbabwe.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Administration, or a closely related field.
- Certified School Administrator or Principal's License/Certification from a recognized body.
- Experience working in a diverse community setting with varying socio-economic backgrounds.
- Proficiency in local languages prevalent in Matabeleland South (e.g., Ndebele, Shona) is considered a significant advantage.
