Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons across the specified curriculum for primary or secondary students.
  • Assess, monitor, record, and report on the learning and development of students, providing constructive feedback.
  • Create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student participation and respect.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for all students.
  • Participate in school meetings, professional development, and extracurricular activities as required.
  • Implement and uphold school policies and procedures, including those related to safeguarding and behaviour management.
  • Utilise a variety of teaching methodologies and resources to cater to diverse learning styles and needs.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and concerns.

Required Skills

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant subject.
  • Proven experience teaching at either Primary or Secondary level.
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Education or a related field.
  • Experience with specific curriculum frameworks relevant to UK education (e.g., National Curriculum).
  • Evidence of continuous professional development and innovative teaching practices.
  • Specialisation in a particular subject area for secondary education (e.g., English, Maths, Science, Humanities).
  • Experience in pastoral care or student well-being initiatives.
