Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Scrum Master to join our innovative product development team in Marzahn, Berlin. This is a pivotal role for an individual passionate about agile methodologies, servant leadership, and fostering an environment of continuous improvement. As a Scrum Master, you will be a key enabler of agility and efficiency within our product development teams. You will work closely with Product Owners, Development Teams, and stakeholders, applying your expertise to foster an environment where self-organization and continuous improvement flourish. Your role extends beyond merely facilitating ceremonies; you will be a mentor, a coach, and an impediment remover, committed to enhancing team performance and ensuring that agile practices are deeply embedded and understood. Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate all Scrum events (Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective) effectively and professionally, ensuring proper timeboxes and objectives are met.
  • Coach development teams in self-organization and cross-functionality, guiding them towards high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Assist the Product Owner with effective product backlog management, including clear articulation of user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritization.
  • Identify and remove impediments, or guide the team to remove them, proactively addressing obstacles that hinder team progress.
  • Shield the team from external interruptions and distractions, allowing them to focus on sprint goals.
  • Promote and educate the organization on Scrum and Agile principles, improving overall understanding and adoption across various departments.
  • Collaborate with other Scrum Masters and the wider Agile community within Career.zycto to enhance the effectiveness of agile practices and foster a consistent approach.
  • Support the team in creating high-value products that meet user needs, business objectives, and quality standards.
  • Foster a safe, transparent, and trusting environment where problems can be raised and addressed without fear of blame or judgment.
  • Track and communicate team progress using appropriate metrics and tools, providing insights into team health and delivery forecasts.

Required Skills

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent certification (e.g., PSM I, SAFe Scrum Master).
  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience as a Scrum Master for a software development team.
  • Deep understanding of Agile principles, values, and practices.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proven ability to coach and mentor teams effectively, fostering a growth mindset.
  • Proficiency with agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Trello).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach.
  • Fluency in English (both written and verbal) is essential.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with scaling Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, LeSS, Scrum@Scale).
  • Knowledge of technical practices such as BDD, TDD, Continuous Integration/Deployment.
  • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and various development methodologies.
  • Experience working in a complex, fast-paced technology environment.
  • German language skills are a significant plus for team integration and local communication.
  • Additional Agile certifications (e.g., A-CSM, PSM II, SAFe Advanced Scrum Master).
