Job Description

Club Med Gando, Shumba is seeking a dedicated and energetic Scuba Diving Support Crew member to join our vibrant team. This full-time role is essential to the smooth and safe operation of our world-class dive center, contributing directly to our guests’ unforgettable underwater adventures.
As a Scuba Diving Support Crew member, you will be the backbone of our diving operations. Your daily tasks will involve a comprehensive range of responsibilities from preparing and maintaining dive equipment to assisting instructors and divemasters with excursions. You’ll ensure all gear—tanks, BCDs, regulators, masks, and fins—is in perfect working order, cleaned, and organized, adhering to the highest safety and maintenance standards. You will be instrumental in loading and unloading equipment onto our dive boats, assisting guests with their gear, and providing friendly, professional support both on the boat and at the dive center.
This role is not just about logistics; it’s about providing an exceptional experience. You’ll interact daily with guests from around the globe, offering assistance, answering questions about local marine life, and ensuring their comfort and safety. You will play a crucial part in creating a welcoming and secure environment for both seasoned divers and those taking their first breaths underwater. Attention to detail, a proactive attitude, and excellent teamwork are paramount in this position. You’ll work closely with our certified instructors and divemasters, learning invaluable aspects of dive operations and resort hospitality.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize dive equipment (tanks, BCDs, regulators, weights, etc.) for daily dive excursions.
- Assist in loading and unloading dive gear onto boats and ensuring its secure placement.
- Maintain the cleanliness and good working order of all dive equipment, including rinsing, washing, and performing basic checks.
- Fill scuba tanks and manage the compressor room safely and efficiently.
- Provide attentive assistance to guests with their equipment, both on land and on the dive boat.
- Support dive instructors and divemasters during briefings, dives, and other activities.
- Maintain the overall organization and cleanliness of the dive center premises.
- Assist with inventory management of dive equipment and retail items.
- Handle guest inquiries and provide excellent customer service, ensuring a positive experience.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and Club Med operational standards.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a marine or diving-related environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying heavy equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English (additional languages are a plus).
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of scuba equipment maintenance and operation.
- Customer service-oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- PADI Open Water Diver certification or equivalent.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience with compressor operation and tank filling.
- Previous experience in a resort or hospitality setting.
- Knowledge of local marine life.
- Proficiency in French, Spanish, or other international languages.
