Job Description
Jirime Hotel is seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Seamstress (Alteration Expert) to join our dedicated team. This is a unique opportunity for a passionate individual to bring their exceptional sewing and alteration skills to a dynamic hospitality environment. As our Seamstress, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the pristine appearance of our hotel’s linens, uniforms, and potentially assisting guests with personal garment alterations. Key Responsibilities
- Perform precise alterations, repairs, and mending on hotel linens, staff uniforms, and other fabric items as required.
- Take accurate measurements and conduct fittings for uniforms and guest garments, ensuring optimal fit and comfort.
- Operate and maintain a variety of sewing machines and equipment, including industrial sewing machines, sergers, and hand-sewing tools.
- Identify fabric types and apply appropriate sewing techniques to achieve durable and aesthetically pleasing results.
- Manage inventory of sewing supplies, threads, fabrics, and notions, and place orders as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments, particularly housekeeping and front office, to understand their specific needs and prioritize tasks.
- Ensure all finished items meet Jirime Hotel's stringent quality standards and are delivered within agreed timelines.
- Provide professional and courteous service to guests requesting personal alterations, offering advice on style and fit.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in operating industrial and domestic sewing machines.
- Expertise in various alteration techniques (hemming, tapering, resizing, patching, zipper replacement, etc.).
- Strong understanding of garment construction and fabric properties.
- Exceptional attention to detail and precision in all sewing tasks.
- Ability to take accurate measurements and perform fittings.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with guests and staff.
