Job Description
CMT – Compagnie Mauricienne de Textile Ltd. is seeking a skilled and passionate Seamstress to join our vibrant production team in Flic en Flac, Black River District. Your role will involve operating industrial sewing machines to assemble fabrics according to specifications, patterns, and design requirements. You will work with a diverse range of materials, from delicate silks to robust denim, requiring adaptability and an understanding of different fabric behaviors. Attention to detail is paramount, as you will be responsible for meticulously executing stitching, hemming, seaming, and other finishing techniques. You will interpret technical sketches and work orders, ensuring accurate alignment, neat seams, and consistent stitch quality across all products. Key Responsibilities
- Operate various industrial sewing machines (e.g., single-needle, overlock, buttonhole) to perform garment stitching and assembly.
- Sew garment parts together, such as sleeves, collars, pockets, and seams, following specified patterns and designs.
- Perform various stitching techniques including hemming, seaming, topstitching, and intricate detailing.
- Inspect finished seams and garments for quality, ensuring consistency, neatness, and adherence to specifications.
- Adjust machine settings (e.g., tension, stitch length) for different fabrics and stitching requirements.
- Identify and report any machine malfunctions or quality issues to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Work efficiently to meet production targets while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of orders.
