Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols of designated areas, both internal and external, to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, vandalism, fire, or other security breaches.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems, responding promptly to any suspicious activities or alerts.
  • Control access to premises, verifying identification and ensuring only authorized personnel and visitors enter restricted areas.
  • Respond to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms according to established procedures, including coordinating with law enforcement if necessary.
  • Prepare detailed reports on incidents, daily activities, and observations, maintaining accurate records for management review.
  • Enforce company security policies and procedures, educating employees and visitors on best practices.
  • Provide excellent customer service, assisting clients and staff with security-related queries and directions.
  • Conduct routine checks of security equipment to ensure proper functionality and report any malfunctions.
  • Assist in the implementation of emergency evacuation plans and procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure a cohesive security approach.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a security-related role, preferably within a corporate or financial environment.
  • Excellent observational skills with a high degree of vigilance and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Sesotho.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure, particularly during emergency situations.
  • Good physical condition and ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
  • Basic knowledge of security procedures, access control systems, and surveillance equipment.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications for report writing and communication.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant security certifications or training from a recognized institution.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Previous experience working with financial institutions' security protocols.
  • A valid driver's license (Class B or higher).
  • Experience in de-escalation techniques and conflict resolution.
