Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Guard to join our growing team in Idumota, Lagos Island. This is a crucial role for individuals committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients and their assets. As a Security Guard, you will be the frontline of defense, responsible for deterring illegal activities, responding to emergencies, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily security protocols. Key Responsibilities
- Patrol designated areas regularly to deter and detect signs of intrusion and ensure the security of premises.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, inspect buildings, equipment, and access points.
- Control access to the facility, verifying credentials for entry and exit of personnel and visitors.
- Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances, reporting any suspicious activities or incidents to the appropriate authorities.
- Apprehend trespassers or violators and turn them over to the appropriate authorities, following established procedures.
- Maintain order and enforce regulations and directives for the safety of the property and personnel.
- Complete detailed reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
- Provide assistance to employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Perform routine security checks and fire prevention tasks.
Required Skills
- Proven work experience as a security guard or in a relevant protective service position (e.g., military, police).
- Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment (e.g., alarms, CCTV).
- Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures and protocols.
- Strong surveillance skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Physical fitness and strength to handle demanding situations, including prolonged standing and walking.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for report writing and incident management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant security certifications (e.g., ASIS, CSO, or local security accreditation).
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience with advanced CCTV monitoring and alarm systems.
- Previous experience in a commercial, residential, or industrial security setting.
- Ability to speak multiple local languages (e.g., Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa) for improved communication.
