Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of airport premises, including terminals, restricted areas, and parking facilities, ensuring comprehensive coverage during the night shift.
- Monitor CCTV surveillance systems and alarm panels for any suspicious activities or security breaches.
- Control access points for vehicles and personnel, verifying credentials and ensuring only authorized individuals enter restricted zones.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, incidents, and emergency situations, following established protocols and procedures.
- Conduct thorough inspections of baggage, cargo, and individuals as required, adhering to airport and national security regulations.
- Maintain detailed records of daily activities, incidents, and observations through comprehensive report writing.
- Liaise and coordinate with law enforcement, emergency services, and airport management during incidents.
- Provide clear and concise communication to airport staff and the public regarding security matters, as appropriate.
- Enforce airport rules and regulations to maintain order and ensure compliance with security policies.
- Perform initial investigations into security incidents and gather evidence for further action.
Required Skills
- Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) Licence (Door Supervisor or Security Guarding)
- Excellent observational and vigilance skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure and during emergencies
- Good physical fitness for patrolling and standing for extended periods
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic IT literacy for operating surveillance systems and completing reports
- A strong understanding of security protocols and procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in airport security or a similar high-security environment
- Experience with CCTV monitoring and access control systems
- Emergency First Aid at Work qualification
- Aviation Security (AvSec) certification or equivalent
- Full clean UK driving licence
