Key Responsibilities
- Assist in regular patrols of the premises, both internal and external, to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, vandalism, or any suspicious activity.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems, reporting any irregularities or security breaches promptly to senior security personnel.
- Control access to the facility, verifying credentials of visitors and contractors, and ensuring only authorized individuals enter restricted areas.
- Respond to alarms and emergency situations according to established protocols, providing initial assessment and support as directed.
- Conduct thorough inspections of entry and exit points, ensuring all doors and windows are secured at appropriate times.
- Maintain accurate daily logs, incident reports, and other documentation related to security activities and observations.
- Assist in conducting routine security checks of bags, vehicles, and personnel as required by bank policy.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting visitors and staff with directions and information, while maintaining a professional and authoritative presence.
- Support senior security guards in managing crowds and maintaining order during peak hours or special events.
- Participate in ongoing training sessions to enhance security knowledge, emergency response skills, and compliance with bank policies.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to relevant departments for immediate attention.
- Ensure compliance with all bank security policies, procedures, and local regulations.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in a security-related role or similar protective service (e.g., retail security, military, police reserve).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure and during emergency situations.
- Basic computer literacy for report writing and monitoring systems.
- Physical fitness to conduct regular patrols, stand for extended periods, and respond quickly to incidents.
- Valid driver's license (desirable but not mandatory, may be required for specific tasks).
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working in a banking or financial institution security environment.
- Certification in basic first aid and CPR.
- Knowledge of local security laws and regulations in Lesotho.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Fluency in Sesotho and English.
