Job Description
BM Security is actively seeking dedicated and vigilant Security Guards for both Day and Night Shifts to join our esteemed team in the upscale Lavington area of Nairobi. This crucial role involves protecting our clients’ premises, assets, and personnel, ensuring a safe and secure environment round the clock. As a Security Guard with BM Security, you will be the frontline representative of our commitment to excellence, playing a pivotal role in maintaining order, deterring criminal activity, and responding effectively to security incidents. Your duties will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, from conducting regular patrols and monitoring surveillance equipment to controlling access points and providing exceptional customer service to residents and visitors. We are looking for individuals who possess a strong sense of responsibility, impeccable integrity, excellent observational skills, and the ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas, both internally and externally, to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of premises.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV cameras, to detect and report any suspicious activities or potential threats.
- Control access to premises, meticulously verifying credentials of personnel and visitors, and issuing appropriate passes.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents, following established protocols.
- Write comprehensive and accurate reports on observations, incidents, and activities during shifts.
- Maintain a visible presence to deter unlawful acts and ensure a sense of safety among clients and visitors.
- Enforce company policies and procedures related to security, health, and safety.
- Assist in emergency situations by directing personnel, clients, and visitors to safety.
- Provide clear and concise directions or assistance to visitors and staff when required, maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services as necessary during critical incidents.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Security Guard or relevant position (minimum 2 years).
- Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
- Strong observational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to operate detection equipment and emergency systems (e.g., CCTV, alarms).
- Good verbal and written communication skills for report writing.
- Physical fitness and stamina to stand, walk, and perform duties for extended periods, including day and night shifts.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
- Basic computer literacy for report generation and system monitoring.
- Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal security training certificate (e.g., KPS, NYS, or private security training).
- First Aid and Fire Safety certification.
- Valid driving license (Class BCE or higher).
- Previous experience working in a high-profile commercial or residential establishment.
