Career.zycto is seeking dedicated and vigilant Security Guards to join our essential team, providing comprehensive day and night shift coverage across our facilities in Bury, Manchester. This pivotal role involves maintaining a safe and secure environment for our staff, visitors, and assets, ensuring adherence to all security protocols and procedures. As a Security Guard, you will be the first line of defence, responsible for deterring crime, responding to incidents, and generally upholding order. You will experience a varied routine, from monitoring CCTV and conducting regular patrols to managing access control and responding to alarms.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises, both internal and external, during day and night shifts.
- Monitor CCTV systems and alarms, responding promptly and effectively to any security breaches or incidents.
- Control access points for employees, visitors, and vehicles, ensuring proper identification and authorisation.
- Maintain accurate records of security activities, incidents, and daily occurrences in logbooks.
- Respond to emergencies, including medical incidents, fires, and security alerts, following established protocols.
- Report any suspicious activities, unsafe conditions, or potential security risks to management.
- Enforce company policies and procedures to ensure a safe and orderly environment.
- Provide excellent customer service and assistance to staff and visitors when required.
- Conduct baggage and personal searches when authorised and necessary, adhering to company policy.
- Operate and maintain security equipment, including alarm systems, access control systems, and communication devices.
Required Skills
- SIA Door Supervisor Licence (valid and current)
- Proven experience as a Security Guard, ideally in a corporate or commercial setting
- Excellent observational and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for reporting and monitoring
- Physical fitness to conduct patrols and stand for extended periods
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality for day and night shifts
- Knowledge of emergency procedures and first aid (or willingness to train)
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid at Work certification
- Experience with CCTV monitoring software and access control systems
- Prior experience in a customer-facing security role
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations pertinent to security operations
