Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of premises, both internal and external, to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, damage, or other hazards.
- Monitor CCTV systems and alarms, responding promptly and effectively to any suspicious activities or security breaches.
- Control access to the site, verifying credentials, issuing visitor passes, and maintaining accurate logs of all persons entering and exiting.
- Respond to emergencies, including alarm activations, medical incidents, and fire alarms, following established procedures and coordinating with emergency services if necessary.
- Deter criminal activity, investigate incidents, and complete comprehensive reports on all security-related matters.
- Enforce site rules and regulations, ensuring compliance by all personnel and visitors.
- Provide excellent customer service, assisting visitors and staff with enquiries while maintaining a professional and vigilant presence.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment.
- Operate security equipment, including radios, key systems, and other communication devices.
- Conduct bag searches, vehicle checks, or personal searches as required by site protocols.
Required Skills
- Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) Door Supervisor or Security Guarding licence.
- Excellent observational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., for report writing).
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Physical fitness adequate for patrolling and standing for long periods.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Flexibility to work day, night, weekend, and public holiday shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a security role (e.g., retail, corporate, industrial).
- Current First Aid at Work certification.
- CCTV Public Space Surveillance (PSS) licence.
- Experience with access control systems and incident reporting software.
- Clean driving licence and access to personal transport.
