Key Responsibilities
- Patrol designated premises regularly to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, inspect buildings, equipment, and access points; permit entry.
- Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances, reporting any suspicious activities or incidents.
- Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
- Enforce rules, regulations, and policies of the client site to maintain order and prevent crime.
- Administer first aid or CPR in emergency situations when necessary.
- Apprehend and detain perpetrators according to legal protocols until law enforcement arrives.
- Provide assistance to employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Operate and maintain security equipment, including access control systems and CCTV.
- Conduct security checks and searches as required, adhering to strict guidelines.
Required Skills
- Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) license (Door Supervisor or Security Guarding)
- Excellent observational and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to operate security equipment and systems effectively
- Strong sense of responsibility and integrity
- Physically fit and capable of prolonged standing, walking, and occasional lifting
- Proficiency in emergency response procedures and conflict resolution
- Basic computer literacy for report writing and data entry
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (1+ years) in a security role (e.g., corporate, retail, industrial)
- First Aid at Work certification
- Knowledge of local security regulations and protocols in Aberdeen
- CCTV Public Space Surveillance License
- Experience with access control systems and visitor management software
