This crucial role involves safeguarding our clients’ assets, premises, and personnel during critical overnight hours. As a Night Duty Security Guard, you will be the frontline defender, responsible for maintaining a secure and safe environment by conducting regular patrols, monitoring surveillance systems, controlling access points, and responding swiftly and effectively to any security breaches or emergencies. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular and thorough foot and vehicle patrols of designated areas during night shifts to detect and deter unauthorized activities.
- Monitor CCTV cameras, alarm systems, and other surveillance equipment for suspicious activities or potential threats.
- Control access to premises, verifying identities, issuing visitor passes, and ensuring only authorized personnel and vehicles enter.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, security incidents, medical emergencies, and other critical situations.
- Enforce site-specific security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance from all personnel and visitors.
- Prepare detailed and accurate reports on all incidents, observations, and daily activities.
- Liaise effectively with emergency services (police, fire, ambulance) when necessary.
- Safeguard company and client property against theft, vandalism, fire, and other potential damages.
- Maintain a visible and professional presence to deter criminal activity and ensure a sense of security.
- Conduct safety checks and identify potential hazards, reporting them to management.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Security Guard, preferably with night duty experience (minimum 1 year).
- Valid Certificate of Good Conduct (Kenya).
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and Swahili.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Basic knowledge of first aid and emergency response procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a disciplined force (e.g., military, police, NYS).
- Certification in basic fire safety and advanced first aid.
- Experience with operating various security technologies (CCTV, access control systems).
- A valid driving license (Class BCE) will be an added advantage.
- Relevant security training certificates from recognized institutions.
