Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Guard for a full-time Night Shift position based in Vacoas-Phoenix. This critical role involves maintaining a secure environment for our premises, assets, and personnel during overnight hours. As a Night Shift Security Guard, you will be the frontline defender, responsible for deterring illegal activities, responding to emergencies, and ensuring the smooth operation of our security protocols throughout your shift. We are looking for an individual with an unwavering commitment to safety, excellent observational skills, and the ability to act decisively under pressure. You will be an integral part of our team, providing essential security services and contributing significantly to the overall safety and operational continuity of our facilities. Key Responsibilities
- Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence, conducting thorough checks of all entry and exit points.
- Monitor surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and access control points for suspicious activity.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, incidents, and emergency situations, following established protocols.
- Log all activities, incidents, and observations accurately and meticulously during the shift.
- Enforce company policies and regulations to ensure a safe and secure environment for all.
- Prepare detailed reports on any disturbances, suspicious activities, theft, or other security-related matters.
- Provide assistance to employees or visitors in emergency situations, offering guidance and support.
- Cooperate with law enforcement and emergency services in investigations when necessary.
- Operate and maintain security equipment efficiently, reporting any malfunctions.
- Control access for vehicles and personnel, verifying credentials as required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Security Guard or in a similar protective services role.
- Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
- Sound judgment and decision-making abilities, especially under pressure.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Ability to operate detection equipment and emergency communication systems.
- Strong observational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods during night shifts.
- Fluent in English and Mauritian Creole for effective communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant security certifications or specialized training (e.g., First Aid, Fire Safety).
- Previous experience working specifically in a night shift environment.
- High School Certificate (SC/HSC) or equivalent qualification.
- Basic computer literacy for report writing and electronic logging.
