Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of assigned premises, both on foot and via vehicle, to deter and detect signs of intrusion, vandalism, fire, and other security risks.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV cameras and alarms, and promptly respond to any alerts or suspicious activities.
- Control access to premises, verifying credentials of personnel and visitors, issuing visitor passes, and maintaining accurate logs.
- Enforce company policies and procedures related to security, health, and safety.
- Respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations, such as medical incidents, fires, security breaches, or disturbances, following established protocols.
- Investigate and document all incidents, accidents, and suspicious activities in detailed and accurate reports.
- Provide excellent customer service to clients, visitors, and employees while maintaining a professional and authoritative presence.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and emergency services as required.
- Operate security equipment, including two-way radios, metal detectors, and other safety devices.
- Ensure the safety and security of all personnel, visitors, and property within the designated area.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to observe and report accurately.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Mauritian Creole.
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform patrol duties, stand for extended periods, and respond to emergencies.
- Strong sense of integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
- Basic knowledge of first aid and emergency response procedures.
- Vigilance and strong attention to detail.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience (1+ year) as a security guard or in a related security field.
- Valid Certificate of Character (COC) issued by the Mauritius Police Force.
- Possession of a valid driving license (manual car and/or motorcycle) for patrol duties.
- Completion of a recognized security training program or certification.
- Knowledge of local security laws and regulations in Mauritius.
