Job Description
Guardsman Group Limited is seeking a highly vigilant and dependable Security Officer for an Estate Patrol role, specifically for the night shift, in Linstead, St. Catherine. This critical position involves ensuring the comprehensive security of a designated estate during nighttime hours, from dusk till dawn. The successful candidate will be responsible for patrolling the premises, monitoring access points, responding to alarms or suspicious activities, and maintaining a secure environment for all property and personnel. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular and thorough patrols of the designated estate on foot and/or via vehicle, ensuring all areas are secure and free from unauthorized access.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV cameras and alarm systems, promptly identifying and reporting any suspicious activities or breaches.
- Control access to the property, verifying identification of all visitors and personnel, and maintaining accurate logs.
- Respond effectively and appropriately to all security incidents, emergencies, and alarms, including break-ins, disturbances, medical emergencies, and fires.
- Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and any other required documentation.
- Enforce all company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance by all individuals on the estate.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed during critical situations.
- Perform routine checks of security equipment, lighting, and fences, reporting any malfunctions or damage.
- Provide a visible deterrent to potential threats and maintain a professional and authoritative presence.
- Educate and advise personnel on security procedures and best practices where necessary.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in security operations, preferably in an estate or commercial setting.
- Excellent observational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities for effective reporting.
- Ability to operate surveillance equipment and basic security technology.
- Physical fitness to perform regular patrols, stand for extended periods, and respond to emergencies.
- High level of integrity, honesty, and professionalism.
- Capacity to work independently and as part of a team during night shifts.
- Sound judgment and decision-making capabilities under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid PSRA License (Private Security Regulation Authority).
- Formal security training certification.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid Jamaican Driver’s License.
