Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of designated areas, checking for unauthorized persons, security breaches, and potential hazards.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV cameras, to detect and prevent suspicious activities.
- Control access to premises, verifying credentials of personnel and visitors, and maintaining accurate logs.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, emergencies, and other incidents, escalating as necessary.
- Enforce company policies and procedures related to security and safety.
- Prepare detailed reports on incidents, observations, and daily activities.
- Provide excellent customer service and assistance to staff and visitors while upholding security standards.
- Operate security equipment and systems proficiently.
- Conduct preliminary investigations into security incidents and submit findings.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies when required.
- Ensure all safety and security protocols are strictly adhered to.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Security Officer or in a similar security role (2+ years).
- Valid security license/certificate (e.g., PSIA, Kenya Police Reserve or similar).
- Excellent observational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to operate security equipment and systems (CCTV, access control, alarms).
- Strong understanding of public safety and security procedures.
- Physically fit and capable of prolonged standing, walking, and occasional lifting.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Basic computer literacy for report writing and log maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Previous experience in a corporate or residential security setting.
- Knowledge of local security regulations and protocols in Nairobi.
- Proficiency in Swahili and English.
