Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular and thorough patrols of the designated premises, both internal and external, during night hours to detect and deter any suspicious activities, breaches, or potential hazards.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV cameras and alarms, meticulously, responding promptly to any alerts or unusual observations.
- Control access points, verifying credentials of all individuals entering or exiting the premises during your shift, and maintaining accurate visitor logs.
- Enforce company security policies and procedures strictly, ensuring compliance by all personnel and visitors.
- Respond effectively and calmly to emergencies such as fires, medical incidents, or security breaches, following established protocols and coordinating with relevant authorities.
- Prepare detailed and accurate reports on incidents, observations, and daily activities, maintaining comprehensive records.
- Conduct preliminary investigations into security incidents and gather evidence as required.
- Ensure all doors, windows, and gates are securely locked and unlocked at appropriate times, as per operational procedures.
- Provide clear and concise communication to colleagues, management, and emergency services when necessary.
- Perform routine checks on safety equipment and infrastructure, reporting any malfunctions or damages.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in a security role, preferably in a night duty capacity.
- Excellent observational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective reporting and interaction.
- Ability to operate CCTV and alarm systems.
- Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure or during emergencies.
- High level of integrity, honesty, and professionalism.
- Basic knowledge of first aid and emergency response procedures.
- Must have a clean criminal record and verifiable references.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant security training certifications (e.g., PSRA certification, First Aid, Fire Safety).
- Prior experience working in a commercial or retail environment in Nairobi.
- Proficiency in Swahili and English.
- Basic computer literacy for report writing and communication.
