Career.zycto is seeking a highly vigilant and proactive Security Operations Aide to join our dedicated team in Ilorin, Kwara State. This full-time role is crucial for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients’ premises and personnel. As a Security Operations Aide, you will be the frontline defense, responsible for implementing and enforcing security protocols, monitoring surveillance systems, and responding effectively to any security incidents. We are looking for an individual with a strong sense of responsibility, exceptional observational skills, and a steadfast commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and professionalism. This role demands a keen eye for detail, the ability to act calmly and decisively under pressure, and excellent communication skills to interact effectively with staff, visitors, and emergency services. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols of designated premises, both internal and external, to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, vandalism, fire, and other security risks.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems, promptly reporting any suspicious activities or breaches to the appropriate authorities and supervisors.
  • Control access to client facilities, verifying credentials, issuing visitor passes, and maintaining accurate logs of all persons entering and exiting.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies such as medical incidents, fires, and security threats, following established protocols and assisting emergency services as needed.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other documentation as required.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all safety and security regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting visitors and staff with inquiries and directions in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Collaborate with team members and management to identify and mitigate potential security vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct routine checks on security equipment to ensure proper functionality and report any malfunctions.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a security role (minimum 2 years).
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to operate surveillance equipment and basic security systems.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Sound judgment and ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Basic first aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Physical fitness to conduct regular patrols and stand for extended periods.
  • Proficiency in basic report writing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in corporate security or a similar high-stakes environment.
  • Valid security guard license or relevant certifications.
  • Knowledge of local security laws and regulations in Kwara State.
  • Proficiency in additional local languages.
